Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year. Everyday we tried to do something "Christmasy" for the 25 days leading up to Jesus's birthday. We decorated Thanksgiving night or that weekend. We looked at lights a lot. We read the Christmas story from the Bible about every night and did our Advent Calendar. We also made a manger out of a shoebox and shredded paper. Every time someone did something nice you could add the paper to the manger in preparation for Jesus's coming. Dillon added his "baby" to the shoebox to sybolize Jesus. We also made a birthday cake and card for Jesus. Christmas is Jesus's birthday and we all really got a lot out of all of the activities we did. Christmas Eve we all went to church together after eating dinner at our house. Dillon dressed up as a wiseman and Hannah dressed up as baby Jesus. They were just precious. Then Brian, Dillon, Hannah, and I opened one present before going to bed. Christmas Day we opened the rest of the presents after blowing the candles out on Jesus's brithday cake and opening His card. We all received many nice things, but the most important and most precious one of all was God's son Jesus. Without His sacrice we would never have had Easter and everlasting life. Dillon had a hard time understanding Christmas stuff comes down and is only once a year. It was hard realizing that we can do it next year and not all year. He had a great Christmas as well as the rest of us. Next year I hope it can even be better, if that's possible.
