Dillon was doing the letter S and many other exciting things this week at school. Today was silly sock or slipper day. Here are some pictures of his silly socks that are a doe and buck his mommy and daddy worked diligently on yesterday and last night. The doe and buck have mouths, eyes, noses, are painted brown, have a white patch, and have black hooves. The doe has a bow, and the buck has antlers. Despite wearing them around the house and getting his picture taken in them his mind changed when he got to school this morning. Everyone including his teachers had on slippers. No one had on silly socks. (Brian said it was easier to just do the slippers we had at home, but I guess I thought it would be cute to do something together and memorable). So, the GREAT mom I am, I had his slippers (just in case he wanted to be more comfortable later) in his backpack and avoided a melt down when he wanted to wear them instead of the silly socks. I didn't know at this age of 4 I was going to have to worry about what other people thought and fitting in with everyone. I had also packed his regular socks and shoes for the day just in case. (He never wore them). I have forgotten lots of things over the past years, weeks, months and days, but today I avoided a "disaster" and Dillon didn't feel left out at all. There is also a picture of him with his slippers on. Overall, we did have fun buying the supplies and making them together. I guess they'll be fun to wear and play with around the house too.
